Start a Climate Conversation

Climate Week begins September 15. Parliament returns on September 22. And September 23 marks 17 years since the world was introduced to the concept of planetary boundaries.

Today, humanity has crossed seven of Earth’s nine planetary boundaries, pushing civilization into increasingly dangerous territory. The science is sobering, but it is not a reason to give up. It is a reason to act.

We can still pull back from the brink. And one of the most powerful places to start is with a conversation.

Our Planetary Boundaries Laser Talk booklet gives you the tools to have those conversations. Print a copy and send it to your MP. Leave one at your local library. Share a talk with a friend, neighbour or community group. Use it when speaking with a journalist or elected representative. Use it to write a letter to the editor.

You don’t need to be a scientist or a climate expert. You just need to be willing to start the conversation. Every conversation can build understanding, challenge assumptions, inspire hope and strengthen the public will for action.

Let’s share what we know. Let’s engage our communities and our elected representatives. Together, we can build the political will to bring our planet back within a safe operating space.
