CCL Canada – Conference 2014

Citizens’ Climate Lobby Canada held its second annual Conference and Lobbying Days from November 22-24, 2014 in Ottawa. Close to a hundred volunteers attended, and were treated to an excellent panel of speakers. Luckily, for those of you who weren’t able to attend, large portions of the conference were recorded and webcast.

Ottawa City Councillor David Chernushenko provided the opening remarks.

Dr. Katharine Hayhoe, atmospheric scientist and author of A Climate for Change, Skyped in to share her wisdom on how to talk to people about climate change.

Our Executive Director, Mark Reynolds, led the volunteers in a CCL empowerment workshop.

Our first keynote speaker was Michael MacMillan, who chairs Samara Canada. He spoke about the book he co-authored with Alison Loat, Tragedy in the Commons.

Canadian venture capitalist, engineer, entrepreneur, philosopher and author Tom Rand was our second keynote. He shared insights from his book Waking the Frog.

The conference finished with a Economics Panel on Carbon Pricing featuring Tom Rand as well as:
