#NowForClimate: Youth Demand a Soft Landing on the Climate Crisis on Tuesday, June 2

Ottawa, ON – As part of Federal Environment Week and in alignment with the United Nations Environment Programme’s (UNEP) World Environment Day 2026, Citizens’ Climate Lobby Canada is co-hosting a youth-led “Parachutes for the Planet” display with Senator Mary Coyle on Parliament Hill.

What: A youth-led display of parachutes, a powerful symbol of hope and a call for a “soft landing” through the climate and polycrises of our time. The event will feature an exhibition of decorated parachutes, each representing a commitment to climate action and a sustainable future.

Why: This year’s World Environment Day theme, #NowForClimate, urges immediate action to address the climate crisis.
