The 2025 G7 Leaders’ Summit will be held in Kananaskis, Alberta, from June 15 to 17, 2025. Through our G7 At The Table initiative, volunteers will invite their newly elected MPs to share a meal and foster meaningful dialogue ahead of the G7 Leaders’ Summit in Kananaskis, Alberta (June 15–16), where climate, democracy, debt, human rights, and multilateralism will be key themes discussed at the table. Looking for more information? Resources: Why are we doing this? The Goals: The aim is to focus on climate only but thread human rights, democracy, debt and multilateralism. Our lobbying focus for the climate until further notice is: – Strengthen its approach by expanding and tightening both industrial carbon pricing and the cap on oil and gas emissions. IMPORTANT: Be sure to take pictures, notes and get permissions and quotes from your MP to share them because the overarching goal is to get local media attention. We hope for at least 5 MPs to take up the offer of a meal with climate on the menu. When all is said and done and right before the G7 Leaders meeting, we will send out a media release and accompanying social media posts. Suggested Agenda for Your G7 at the Table Meal
Starting Wednesday, May 7 the second half of our weekly CCL Canada Changemakers calls will be dedicated to helping volunteers progress towards this initiative. Everything can be found linked to our homepage of our website so you can easily access the information page from your phone

The Goals
Using the placemat we’ve created to spark conversation as a prompt, we will be asking our parliamentarians questions related to each category:
– Adopt Border Carbon Adjustments to stay competitive and manage trade-related climate risks.
– Implement Climate-Aligned Finance regulations to protect our financial system and ensure capital flows align with a safe and sustainable future.Suggested Agenda
1. Introductions
2. Keep things casual and then agree to at what point in the meal you shall go to the official agenda
3. Appreciation and congratulations to the MPs.
4. State the goals of the meal. Be sure to have printed copies of the placemats to focus and visually cue your conversations.
5. Take pictures throughout and at the end.
6. Ask the MP if it is Ok if we can share it with the media and they like to have a quote in our media release.
