CCL Canada smashes LTE record

Summer is typically a season when warmer weather liberates Canadians to spend time outdoors. Consequently, volunteer activity usually slows down, but CCL Canada members kept up the pace and then some by smashing their record for letters to the editor (LTE). They generated 117 LTEs between July 1 and August 10, nearly quadrupling their monthly average of 30.

CCL Canada is a gearing up for its national conference and lobbying days in Ottawa October 21-24 with an eye toward influencing party platforms heading into the 2019 election.

“In our July action sheets, we asked our members to write letters to the editor so that we can show our federal Parliamentarians that the newspapers are responsive to our facts about the climate crisis and carbon pricing,” said CCL Canada National Manager Cathy Orlando. “Thank you to all the Canadian volunteers who sent in letters to the editor since July 1. You are setting the tone to make Canada an international leader in environmental stewardship.”
