In 2025, Citizens’ Climate Lobby Canada quietly marked 15 years of volunteer-driven climate advocacy amid global crises, political uncertainty, and a fragmented media landscape. Despite these challenges, CCL Canada’s volunteers remained steadfast. Our volunteers entered 1,272 Action Tracker reports in 2023, 2,492 in 2024, and 3,461 in 2025, showing the world what a highly organized, committed group looks like. Constituent lobbying, grassroots outreach, and public engagement through “Get Out the Vote!” campaigns, educational sessions, and a record-setting national conference kept climate solutions visible and actionable. Key lessons emerged. Progress is non-linear. Relationships are foundational. Community power drives impact even when social media and political environments are hostile. With limited staff, the national office focused on empowering volunteers, strategic planning, and amplifying impact across the country. Looking ahead to 2026, CCLers will deepen connections with their own MPs, continue to grow our number of active volunteers, and scale lobbying and media efforts. Guided by focus, integrity, optimism, and collective action, our organization will continue to show that constituent-driven advocacy can shape climate policy and build the political will for a liveable world.
