Spirit Wrestlers Gather On Parliament Hill Friendships were forged and relationships deepened with parliamentarians. The evening was the epitome of citizen engagement and life imitating art. In collaboration with MP Atamanenko, Citizens' Climate Lobby What inspired The Change Agents was a conversation Robyn Sheppard (writer/director) had with one of her high school students who sat in her office in tears and said, “If everything being said about the environmental crisis is true, then why aren’t we doing more to change things. It’s an emergency. We need to do more.” The Change Agents is a drama about finding the strength to turn your beliefs into action. Students were involved in all aspects of the film making process, both in front of and behind the camera. Mimicking the film's plot, the production brought together the students, gifted mentors, some film professionals, many local businesses and the community at large all of whom volunteered their expertise, time and money.
It is a small world. The Change Agent's director and writer Robyn Sheppard, was originally from Toronto-Danforth. Serendipitously, MP Craig Scott (Toronto-Danforth) was sitting beside our National Manager at the movie. At the end of the movie, he was obviously moved by it. Cathy introduced Craig to Robyn, it was instant friendship. On June 9 MP Craig Scott (Toronto-Danforth) have a glowing endorsement in the House of Commons of The Change Agents Movie in the House of Commons.
