What the various parts of the website are appropriate for:
- Events are for meetings with a time and date.
- Blogs are like a diary.
- Pages are for stuff you want to stay on the website.
- Forums – It is possible to have public or private forums which can be used to discuss various topics. I haven't implemented this on your site but it is there if you decide to use it.
- Announcements have a start and end date. Announcements have an abstract which is the text that is displayed in a block on the site) and body which is a page that is displayed when the viewer clicks on the title of the announcements.
Users need permission to create different types of content on the site. If you do not have permission you will be denied access to the page to create the content (or the menu item will not be visible).
Note that there is a search box on each page so that if you can't remember where you saw something all you need to do is enter a search term there and all pages with that term will be listed.
