🌍Parachutes for the Planet on Parliament Hill! 🪂

Mark Your Calendar: Tuesday, June 2, 2026 | 7:30 AM – 9:30 AM
Location: Parliament Hill Lawn (in front of Centre Block)

Be part of a powerful, youth-led display during Federal Environment Week—a national initiative aligned with the UN Environment Programme’s World Environment Day 2026. The youth leading the event include Sophia Mathur, Maggie Fu, Salma Mohamed, and Ahmed Mohamed.

Hosted by Senator Mary Coyle and Citizens’ Climate Lobby Canada, Parachutes for the Planet is your chance to stand for climate action and hope for the future.

🎤 Highlights:

  • 7:45 AM – 8:15 AM: Inspiring speeches and photo opportunities with leaders and activists.
  • Of note, the United Environmental Program (UNEP) has indicated that they want short dances for any action on World Environment Day.
  • So, the youth are going to share a participatory dance. It is very simple. The goal is to get some clips of everyone dancing together to share with the UNEP.
  • All morning: Witness the stunning Parachutes for the Planet display—a symbol of a soft landing amid today’s polycrises.
