“Since the Paris Agreement in 2015, Canada has emerged on the world stage as a leader in carbon pricing. The Price of Carbon is a timely book full of important information for those seeking to understand the urgency of the climate crisis and the powerful solution of pricing carbon. Thank you David Maenz. The world needs carbon pricing. The world needs more Canada.”
– Mark Reynolds, Executive Director Citizens’ Climate Lobby

The Price of Carbon was researched and written over a 2 year period by Dr. Maentz . He has a general interest in the interrelated subjects of industrialization and population growth, the science of climate change, current practices and sources of emissions, future climate scenarios, technical pathways to decarbonize economic sectors, and the level of ambition, policies and economic drivers required for countries to meet regional obligations to curtail emission and limit future surface warming as specified in the Paris Agreement. The intention of author was to distill the findings and conclusions of expert groups such as the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change and the International Energy Agency, into a narrative for a wider audience. The book was written from a global perspective and avoids over simplification of what is perhaps the most important issue of our time.
