What are we lobbying for?
We spend months as a collective determining these asks. Our goal is keep improving and protecting the policies that divert finances away from fossil fuels.

Follow Europe: Canada should copy Europe’s plan of carbon border adjustment mechanisms.
Stop fake advertising: Support Bill C-372 to stop misleading fossil fuel ads.
Accelerate and Improve Funding Allocation: Deploy the pre-designated portion of pollution pricing revenues that is designated for small and medium size businesses, municipalities, universities, schools and hospitals, and indigenous communities at a faster rate and in a more transparent manner.
Listen to the experts: We should stop using fossil gas for electricity. Make Canada’s electricity clean by 2035.
Cap pollution: Set strict rules to cut pollution from oil and gas by the end of 2024. No loopholes or tricks allowed.
Align the financial system: Support Bill S-243 to make sure money is invested in projects that help fight climate change.

CCL Canada respectfully acknowledges that the work we support stretches across the homes of many First Nations, Métis and Inuit peoples on Turtle Island and that their traditional knowledge must be significantly incorporated as part of meaningful action on the climate crisis. We acknowledge that they are traditional owners and custodians of this land and that for decades they have been the first line of defence against climate breakdown. Indigenous resistance has stopped at least 1.8 billion metric tonnes of greenhouse gas pollution on Turtle Island.
