Donate to CCL

CCL Canada is a non-profit, non-partisan, grassroots advocacy organization focused on national, provincial, and territorial policies that improve and protect Canada’s national carbon pricing policy.

Guided by core values of optimism, relationships, integrity, personal power, diversity, and being non-partisan, our volunteers foster meaningful relationships within the community and with leaders on the climate file. We aim to build consensus, and with it, lasting change.

Please consider donating $20, $50, $100, $500, or $1000 to CCL Canada today.

Graciously, we have a matching donation of $5,000 for a donation campaign that will run from June 15 to July 15.

About CCL Canada

Since its inception in 2010, CCL Canada has lobbied relentlessly for Ottawa to adopt carbon fee and dividend. Over the years our members have logged well over 1300 meetings with parliamentarians and have generated well over three thousand five hundred letters to the editors, opinion pieces, editorials, and articles about the climate crisis and carbon pricing.

On October 16, 2018, Senator Grant Mitchell said to us, “You are one of the most successful lobbying groups I have worked with because you are about to get what you lobbied for.”

On Tuesday, October 23, 2018, Canada announced it was going to enact a form of carbon fee and dividend. It needed some improvements, so we continued to lobby our parliamentarians.

WE DID IT! On Friday, December 11, 2020, improvements to Canada’s carbon pricing policy were announced.  We were ecstatic when we read about the improvements they made. The government of Canada pretty much cut and pasted what we had lobbied our MPs for.

Our work is not done. And it never will be done. Democracy requires healthy engagement between citizens and politicians, and our climate is still in jeopardy.

If you are blessed with financial abundance, then please consider donating to Citizens’ Climate Lobby.

Donations to Citizens’ Climate Lobby are not tax-deductible because we lobby, we train people to lobby, and we run conferences and lobbying days at significant expense to our organization. All of these activities are non-charitable activities.

Help CCL Canada Grow

We are growing. We are raising money to run in-person conferences post-COVID. Furthermore, we are building on almost 11 years of institutional wisdom in nurturing some of the best volunteer lobbyists on the planet. The proof is the pudding. We got what we lobbied for.

In 2021, our goal was $10,000 and to date, we have raised $10,504.50. Thank you so much, everyone. This will make it possible to defer the costs of registration for our proposed 2022 conference.  Now we are raising money to defer the travel costs of volunteers who could not otherwise afford to attend as well as the conference organizers, who collectively will donate at least 500 hours of their time to the 2022 conference.

Why donate today?

Time is running out to reduce greenhouse gas (GHG) emissions and mitigate their impacts. Pivotally, with the right policies, including pricing carbon as a core component of a cost-effective climate plan, countries like Canada can become a leader in tackling climate change. Let’s make sure Canada builds back better from the COVID crisis.

Your financial contributions at this critical juncture in world history will literally mean the world to us.

IMMENSE GRATITUDE:
We are grateful to our donors. We would never have been able to conduct five national conferences, three smaller national conferences, four Ontario regional conferences, and lobby collectively 14 times on Parliament Hill since 2011 without their unconditional giving and trust. Since COVID-19 struck we have conducted four national conferences too.
