Online registration is now open for our training and lobbying days in Ottawa. Registration closes Monday, May 25, 2015. Registration is separate from meals and lodging. To get CCL's special rate at our hotel, you must book by April 30, 2015. Our hotel venue is the Courtyard Marriott in the Byward market. This is not a conference. It is a training and lobby sessions and the registration costs of $30.00 reflects the difference. The training session will run from 1:00 to 6:00 pm on Sunday, May 31, 2015. The main purpose of the training is to prepare our volunteers for election 2015. On April 1, 2015, MP Bruce Hyer (Thunder Bay – Superior North) again asked the government to consider Citizens’ Climate Lobby’s policy of  carbon fee and dividend. The Conservatives replied with their ongoing cue-card talking points of sector-by-sector regulation and anti-carbon tax rhetoric.  This rhetoric was also reaffirmed in a column from the Minister of Natural Resources, the Honourable Greg Rickford (Kenora) on April 3, 2015. In fact since 2008, the phrase “job killing carbon tax” has been uttered 293 times in the House of Commons.  

In contrast, MP Hyer has championed carbon fee and dividend numerous times in the House of Commons including: November 19, 2013, May 16, 2014 ,  May 26, 2014 , June 9, 2014 , September 29, 2015, September 30, 2014, October 6, 2014 , December 2, 2014, December 3, 2014, February 3, 2015, and March 9, 2015,  and April 1, 2015.

Canada is long overdue for adult conversations about carbon pricing.
