CCCL Summer 2014 Internships

CCCL Summer 2014 Internships

Canada's Citizens Climate Lobby offers a supervised internship to students who wish to work with our organization during the Summer 2014 term (May-June).
Our National Headquarters are at 80 Elm St, Sudbury, ON P3C 1T2.

Mandate
Citizens Climate Lobby (CCL) is a growing organization of over 170 local groups in Canada and the U.S. that are pressing for progressive climate legislation. CCL takes the view that politicians generally do not create political will, rather they respond to it. Its volunteers therefore seek to educate the public through diverse media and to lobby elected representatives and governments to price carbon and undertake a phased transition to a green energy economy. CCL supports a direct fee on carbon-based fuels at the source, providing a market signal to invest in clean energy technology, while returning the fee’s revenue to households.

Our purposes are

1) To create the political will for legislative action to ensure a sustainable climate.
2) To empower individuals to have breakthroughs in exercising their personal and political power.

Advocacy, Social Media, Communications, Research and Event Support:
The placement combines advocacy, communications, technical support, research and assisting in event coordination.
