NEWS: Parliamentary e-Petition #e297 for Carbon Fee and Dividend Closes Thursday, September 8, 2016 8:23 am

Last Chance Canada to Sign #e297 – Our Parliamentary e-Petition for Carbon Fee and Dividend

CCL Canada’s Parliamentary e-petition for  carbon fee and dividend (#e297) that Dr. James Hanson and Dr. Katharine Hayhoe both  promoted in May  will be closed for signatures on September 8, 2016, at 8:23 a.m. (EDT).

#E297 garnered over 500 signatures within the first three days after we officially launched it in May and currently has 842 signatures – up 51 signatures from last week. MP Nathanial Erskine-Smith (Beaches-East York) will present the petition in the House of Commons this fall.

Since the e-petition was launched, the Minister of Environment and Climate Change, backed up by the Canada’s Carbon Pricing Leadership Coalition, announced that Canada will have a national price on carbon by the end of the year. Any new signatures will keep building political will across Canada and will increase the likelihood of a strong and predictable national price on carbon pollution in Canada.

If you are a Canadian citizen, please sign e-petition #e297. After signing, please check your e-mail inbox to confirm that your signing was recorded.
